Water Cooling Principle Of The Diesel Generator

Cooling water jacket is cast in both the cylinder head and the cylinder block of the diesel engine. After the coolant is pressurized by the water pump, it enters the cylinder water jacket through the water distribution pipe. The coolant absorbs the heat from the cylinder wall while flowing, the temperature rises, and then flows into the cylinder head water jacket, enters the radiator through the thermostat and pipe. At the same time, due to the rotation of the fan, air blows through the radiator core, so that the heat of the coolant flowing through the radiator core is continuously dissipated, and the temperature is reduced. Finally, it is pressurized by the water pump and then flows into the water jacket of the cylinder again,so that the continuous circulation will increase the speed of the diesel engine. In order to make the front and rear cylinders of a multi-cylinder diesel engine cool evenly, generally diesel engines are equipped with a water pipe or cast water distribution room in the cylinder block. with a water pipe or cast water distribution room in the cylinder block. The water pipe is a metal pipe, along the longitudinal heat outlet, the larger the pump, so that the cooling strength of each cylinder before and after is similar, the whole machine cooling evenly.

The water cooling system is also provided with a water temperature sensor and meter. The water temperature sensor is installed at the water outlet pipe of the cylinder head, and transmits the water temperature of the water outlet pipe to the water temperature meter. The operator can use the water temperature meter to know the working condition of the cooling system at any time, and the normal working water temperature is generally 80-90℃. The coolant used in diesel engines should be clean, soft water. If add hard water, the minerals in it will precipitate at high temperatures and adhere to the pipes, water jackets and radiator cores to form scale, which reduces heat dissipation, easy to overheat the diesel engine, it will also block the radiator core, and accelerate the wear of the pump impeller and casing. Because hard water with a lot of minerals, it needs to be softened before added in the cooling system. The commonly way for hard water softening is to add 0.5-1.5g of sodium carbonate in 1L of water, or add 0.5-0.8g of sodium hydroxide, After the impurities are precipitated, take the above clean water into the cooling system.
